   CENTRAL VACUUM
           SYSTEM
Cleaning the house may not be your idea of a fun activity. But while vacuuming may never be fun, there is a way to make the job a little easier. Most of us vacuum with the standard moveable unit, but have you ever thought of installing a central vacuum system in your home?

Central vacuum systems are becoming more common. A central vacuum system can cost less than a high-end moveable vacuum and can add around $2,000 to your home's resale value.

A central vacuum system, sometimes called a built-in vacuum, is the modern alternative to traditional, portable vacuum cleaners. It consists of four basic parts:
  • A power unit, usually installed in a garage, basement or storage space. The power unit also serves as the collection point for dirt and debris vacuumed in the house.
  • PVC tubing, installed inside walls and/or under floors. The PVC tubing connects the power unit to the inlet valves.
  • Inlet valves, strategically located throughout the home. When you vacuum your home, you attach the vacuum hose to the inlet valve in the area you wish to clean. Three inlet valves can easily cover an entire 2,200 square foot home and garage.
